    Led by Roisin. We will meet in person to discuss your first 6 weeks after baby is born. We’ll talk about your support network and the roles of your birth partner, ways to help your physical and emotional recovery, what healing looks like, traditions in your family and culture. We will discuss your expectations, why rest is crucial to recovery, and ways you can set up your home to help you.

    Session 2: Preparing for Breastfeeding

    Led by Claire. We will meet in person to start your preparation for feeding your baby. We will discuss how breastfeeding works, the significance of early days support, and understanding the role of colostrum. We will talk about your expectations, signpost you to local support where needed, and start your breastfeeding journey in the best way possible.

    These 2 sessions provide an invaluable foundation for your postpartum period.

  • 1 x 90 minute visit, usually within the first 5 days after your baby is born.

    Whether you are in hospital still or have recently arrived home, receiving breastfeeding support in the early days following birth can be a game changer for your feeding journey. When you arrive home, things feel very different. It can feel scary and deeply emotional bringing a new baby home with the feelings of worry and concern about baby feeding enough and maintaining their birth weight or loosing weight. Please reach out as i can help you.

    At the visit, you should expect;

    Guidance with positioning and latch so your baby is able to feed well.

    Explain the way breastfeeding works and guide you with best practice.

    Guidance with different ways to attach your baby to the breast.

    Discuss realistic expectations of having a newborn, what is or isn’t normal.

    Guide you with your baby’s needs and listen to your concerns.

    I can answer any questions you may have in the early days.

  • 2 x 90 minute visits, usually within the first 2 weeks after your baby is born.
